Dhaka, 12th August, 2017: The Eye Care Project of ManabikSahajyaSangstha (ECP-MSS) and Professor Matin Eye Care System (PMECS) signed a collaborative memorandum of understanding to provide comprehensive eye care services, including surgeries, to the underserved people of the country. Both organizations aim to eliminate preventable blindness among the disadvantaged segment of the population.
The MoU was signed by Advocate M ShamsulHuq, General Secretary of PMECS and A N M EmamHasanath, Executive Director of MSS in presence of MSS President Mr. Feroz M Hassan and MSS Adviser TarikulGhani; PMECS leaders Professor M A Muqueet, Vice President, Md. MajedHossain, Joint Secretary, Mr. Isa MdMainuddin, Secretary, Md. Johurul Islam Jewel, Senior Program Manager and Eye Consultant Sadeque Ahmed, among others.
“We are determined to eliminate preventable blindness of the underserved people through identifying eye care patients through eye camps and getting them treated through our partner hospitals. Nobody should remain blind due to poverty” said MSS President Mr. Feroz M. Hassan. “Under the agreement PMECS with its 13 eye hospitals spread in the north of Bangladesh will perform various eye surgeries of the disadvantaged people at concessional rates and provide technical assistance for conducting eye camps” said Professor M A Muqueet, Vice President of PMECS.
The two organizations will work together to eliminate preventable blindness, raise eye care awareness and make eye care accessible to the underserved people including those in remote areas.
